As a local operator living with the effects of climate change firsthand, we share an honest and grounded perspective on the Arctic – shaped by experience, not staging.

Our Team
ITT Guesthouse is run by a family deeply rooted in Ittoqqortoormiit, working closely with the local community and hunters. The team combines lived experience, local knowledge and responsibility – ensuring authentic and well-grounded Arctic experiences.

Mette Pike Barselajsen
Born and raised in Ittoqqortoormiit, Mette is the founder of ITT Guesthouse and has worked with local tourism for more than a decade across East Greenland. She leads the guesthouse with a strong focus on community collaboration, responsible tourism and sharing everyday Arctic life with visitors.

Bella Barselajsen
Bella has been part of the team from the beginning, starting by assisting her mother and gradually taking on full responsibility for daily operations. During the summer season, she also manages cruise ship services and coordinates guest handling in close cooperation with local partners.

Åge Pike Barselajsen
Åge is the primary guide for ITT Guesthouse, leading boat tours, snowmobile trips and land-based experiences. As a recreational hunter and WWF Polar Patrol employee, he brings deep knowledge of the landscape, wildlife and local traditions, and plays a key role in local dinners and cruise ship guiding.
